Policosanol
 The Policosanol formulated for Vital Life Nutritionals is a derivative of pure sugar cane. In clinical studies policosanol has been found to have the same mechanism of action as many cholesterol medications without the side effects which accompany statin drugs.

Policosanol is a mixture of nine high primary aliphatic alcohols designed to support healthy cholesterol. Octacosanol, the main component in policosanol, works as a powerful antioxidant to help maintain healthy arteries. It has been found to lower LDL cholesterol in the bloodstream and increase HDL cholesterol. The other aliphatic alcohols included in policosanol are also important components in helping to support cardiovascular health.
