  • Cholest-Check, a new innovative product that builds on the benefits of policosanol.

cholesterol check imageCholest-Check combines supplements not previously matched in a cholesterol support formula. It combines:

    • 20 mg of policosanol

    • 60 mg coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10)

    • 200 mg niacin (non-flush)

    • 50 mg grape seed extract

    Policosanol
The policosanol contained in Cholesterol Check (
Cholest-Check) contains over 50% octacosanol, a derivative of a wax from sugar cane plants, found to suppress lipid accumulation in fatty tissue and inhibit oxidation of LDL cholesterol in the blood stream. The amount of octacosanol contained in the policosanol formula used in Cholest-Check is the same amount found beneficial in clinical studies in Cuba.

    Coenzyme Q10
Stephen Sinatra, a board certified cardiologist who integrates conventional medicine with nutrition at his New England Heart and Longevity Center says,
"I have long considered CoQ10 a wonder nutrient because of its ability to support heart health."

CoQ10 has been called one of the "most important dietary supplements of the new millennium." CoQ10 transfers the energy from food into ATP and is a powerful antioxidant.

    Niacin
Cholesterol Check (Cholest-Check)  includes niacin in the form of inositol hexanicotinate, which provides all of the exceptional benefits of niacin without the flushing that can sometimes accompany other forms.

Regular niacin causes unpleasant side effects such as itchy, burning skin- the niacin flush. Standard niacin may also harm the liver. Inositol hexanicotinate delivers niacin to the bloodstream slowly, eliminating the niacin flush, and has not been associated with impaired liver health or other side effects of conventional or slow-release niacin.

Niacin is the best agent known to raise blood levels of HDL, which helps remove cholesterol deposits from the artery walls. It has also been shown to be very effective in combination with statin drugs.

In daily doses of 250-500 mg, niacin commonly increases protective HDL cholesterol by 15-20%. Studies suggest that an increase of 1 mg/dL in HDL is associated with a roughly 24% reduction in coronary heart disease outcomes.

    Grapeseed Extract
    Last but not least
    Cholesterol Check (
Cholest-Check) includes 50 mg of ActiVin Grape seed extract, a powerful antioxidant that has been shown in numerous clinical studies to be vastly useful in supporting cardiovascular health.

Grape seed extract is derived from the small seeds (and occasionally the skins) of red grapes--the same kind that are pressed to make wine.

The most valuable flavonoids in grape seed extract are procyanidolic oligomers (also known as proanthocyanidins), commonly called PCOs.

    • PCOs in grape seed extract have been shown to be 50 times more potent than vitamin E, a potent inhibitor of oxidation. Oxidation of LDL cholesterol is a key factor leading to heart disease and heart attacks.

    • PCOs have also been shown to prevent the stickiness of blood platelets that can lead to blood clots and strokes.

    • Patients taking grape seed extract PCO have reported reduced blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

Cholest-Check is specially formulated to use substances that work together synergistically to promote cardiovascular, metabolic and neurological health. Daily dosage is two small vegetarian, gluten free capsules.
